Keep it cosy and stylish when it's cold outside with the Misabel hat.
Made from DK yarn and a simple stitch repeat, this cute hat will quickly become a staple in your winter wardrobe.
This pattern uses simple stitches to create a super cute hat which pairs well with any outfit. Top it off with a fluffy pom-pom and you've got yourself a new beanie you'll reach for whenever the temperature drops.
Get your hook and yarn, it's time to get making!
You can find an ad free PDF version of this pattern in my shop.
Notes.
Turning ch does not count as a st throughout.
There are 3 sizes for this hat, sizes 1 (2, 3) which measure approx. 52.5 (55, 57.5) cm in circumference. Slouchy hats are approx. 24 cm deep, tighter hats are approx. 20 cm deep.
Your hat is worked in joined rounds. The ribbing is worked in unturned rounds, then you turn at the end of each round when working the main hat. If you’d like a tighter rib, use a hook 0.5-1mm smaller than your main hook.
How to work a crossed dc: sk 1 st, 1 dc, working in front of st just made, 1 dc in skipped st.
I used Rico Creative Fluffily in Aqua (013) and Hobbii Fluffy Day in Rust (18).
You will need approx. 205 (215, 225) m of DK yarn for the slouchy hat and approx. 165 (170, 180) m of DK yarn for the tighter fit hat.
You will need a 4.5mm hook (or size needed to meet gauge), needle, scissors, a pom-pom or a pom-pom maker, and a tape measure.
Gauge.
PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS PART. It’s important to ensure correct sizing.
16 sts x 15 rows = 10cm x 10cm
To swatch, chain 21.
Row 1: Starting in second ch from hook, sc across. Turn. 20 sts.
Row 2: ch1, sc across, turn.
Rows 3-9: As row 2.
Row 10: ch3, 1 dc, [crossed dc over next 2 sts] to final st, 1 dc. Turn.
Rows 11-19: As row 2.
Measure 10cm x 10cm over your work. If you have more sts and rows than stated above, try a larger hook. If you have fewer sts and rows, try a larger hook. Your swatch will be bigger than 10cm, it’s important to measure over a larger area.
